Underground Equipment
Equipment that is being used underground is typically subject to strict safety regulations and must also be small or break down into small pieces to allow it be transported underground.
Based in Sudbury, Canada--a city known globally for nickel production--Equipment North specializes in providing equipment for use underground.
Cageable Equipment
In addition to developing machines specifically for use underground, such as the Miner, Minerscopic and Halman EN Creter, we are experts at preparing other equipment for being transported underground in cages.
Meeting Safety Requirements
Every mine site has different safety requlations for equipment being used underground. This may include:
- braking
- fire suppression
- wheel chock storage
- lighting
We have extensive experience modifying equipment--both new equipment intended for use underground and client equipment that is being repurposed--to meet these requirements.
Custom Solutions
We are continuously developing new machines, and modifying existing machines, to perform specialized underground tasks. For example, Equipment North developed the the Halman EN Creter, a machine that dramtically reduced the cost and improved the safety of shotcreting operations in hard-rock mining.
If you cannot find equipment to do a specific job, we can either find the right equipment for you or work with you to create the product you need.
